Questions/Problems from the RC & Staff:
| Questions to National from the RC: | |
|
Q:
I think I ask this question every month; why should this one
be any different? <G> Do we have an updated ETA on the CCDB? Q: When will we get dates for SWRE 2004? Domain Coordinators have been asking when the event will be held, so they can prepare bids. |

C: Jonneth Santschi has been pending MC12
review for 13 months. A: Ms. Santschi requested that I personally handle her MC Review at the Regional level. Between my lack of the necessary time to accomplish this in a timely fashion -- as I have informed her previously -- and some items on her log which required additional clarification, this is still not completed. Ms. Santschi did send me clarifications this month, and I hope to get to it soon.
C:
Regional Domain Boundary Issues have extended to the 90-day mark, due to
lack of cooperation from the coordinators in turning in their geogrphical
information. |

C: Very little is
going on within Southern California, everyone is playing polite, there is a
minor tiff going on between the ST staff and the Global Metaplot office, a
turf war so to speak regarding who has what authorities, but it isn't going
so far as any disciplinary action or as of yet formal complaints so... A: Please keep your eye on this situation, Frank |

P: Had some conflict with the hotel for SWRE
double booking us against a massage therapist convention. Issue has been
resolved. We have the facility to ourselves. A: Excellent. P: Still have problems with members who did not receieve prestige from the previous ARC for thier charity service. A: We receuved few-to-no records from the previous administration; I cannot grant Prestige without those records. P: Many of the SWRE staff still have not registered for the event. It is difficult for me to ask other members to register if the STAFF has not done this. A: Agreed. However, all we can realistically do is continue to encourage them to set the example and register for the event.
Q:
If a member can provide proof that they particpated in a Regional Charity
Drive along with proof showing that they submitted this information to the
prevoius ARC, yet recieved no award for this service, am I allowed to grant
them their prestige? |
|

| C:
I am not sure that I will be able ot make it to SWRE
due to monetary constraints. A: Well, it would be nice to see you there, but remember -- Real Life takes priority over everything else. I hope things improve for you. |

C: I ran into an interesting concern that all CC's and DC's should be aware of. On of the audits I was sent was not in the right format and had no verifications at all. It was sent by an ACC - Prestige whom I do not believe even looked at the log. When I contacted him, he did not reply, forcing me to go to the member and his CC to clean up the logs. At this point, I would highly recommend that all CC's and DC's approve any logs, before they are sent to regional to make sure the Prestige person is doing their job correctly.
C:
Also, a lot of logs are coming in with very little contact information. We really
need the email addresses of the member, their immediate coordinator and the
domain coordinator where they reside. The exception being independent
members, chapters, or domains with no chapters.
C: Accuracy in logs is still an issue. Anything other than
national format that is completely and correctly filled out will be sent
back. |

I am having a lot of my own problems within the Cam on a personal level, and
I am considering a leave of absence. A: Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help; if you need time off, I ask that you give me adequate lead-time and/or recommend someone who can take up the slack while you're away. |

May 2, 2004), Phoenix AZ SWRE 2004 is just around the corner (end of April 2004); memberships are available for purchase via the White Wolf catalog ($20 at the moment), and we have a Website available at www.swre.org. We are very close to making our pre-registration goal for room reservations; should that goal not be met, we may have to cancel the event in order to prevent the cancellation fee from increasing to $4600.00 from the current amount of $3000.00. There are currently no other Regional Events being planned for our Region through the end of the calendar year. |

Note: Regional funds are

AZ-009-I Que Sera Sera |
P:
There seems to be some kind of breakdown in the reporting chain. As we are
a small chapter we hold multiple positions. For instance, I am CC but I am
also VST of Cam/Anarch and Sabbat. The VST Changeling is also the lead VST
(yes we know it’s not an actual position, but Kevin wants it for ease of
compiling reports) responsible for compiling our VST reports Into the DST
style reports that regional receives. Neither Jay nor myself are currently
receiving prestige for our VST positions on the Regional Coordinator
report. Currently due to the Server move, I am unable to verify from the
SWST regional report, whether or not I’m complaining about something that
has been resolved. Also, technically, because we are an independent
chapter, the RST needs to recommend the prestige for our entire ST Chain.
Again, I am unable to access the list archives, to see if he did. If he did
not, I have at least two other VST’s missing prestige. Would it be possible
to look into this and get the prestige listed on the RC report? A: The CC of the Chapter should be the one awarding VST Prestige -- normally. However, where the CC is also a VST, it would then fall to this office to do so. There is a method in place already for this to be done, and one which has been announced on the SW-Coords list more than once: Any Coordinator who needs to have Prestige awarded for anything other than their monthly Coordinator award, needs to submit a message to me on a monthly basis showing what they have been recommended for. That's the only way I can know what needs to be awarded; if I have to search through all the reports to gather information myself, it would consume more time than I have available. So, again, you need to submit monthly, a message indicating everything you have been recommended for, and I will then make awards. Please note, if you are awarded Prestige by another Regional (or higher, non-Storytelling-related) Officer, you do not have to include that in your message. Put those awards in your logs, and make sure you have a URL for award verification. Ultimately though, the responsibility for doing this (and your Prestige) is yours. If you do not send me a message, then I will not make awards outside of your normal Coordinator award. |

P: I
am confused by the status of Elisa Graybill’s MC 11 and 12 review. As far
as I can tell it says it is a completed review; however, neither Elisa nor
myself have received confirmation of her rise to MC11, nor confirmation that
her approval has been forwarded to national for MC12 review. Please let me
know what additional steps I need to take to resolve this issues which has
been pending since November. A: The loss of Eric Silviera to my staff, as noted in the February 2004 report, has interrupted Ms. Graybill's audit. Her audit will be reassigned to Mr. Hirsch, and processed as soon as possible. P: Two
of my chapter members spent up to 40 hours working on creating and running a
part of the Garou metaplot for the year of fire. I am not sure how they
will get awarded prestige for this effort. Is it something the NST’s office
will take care of directly, or do I need to do something about it? P: As
far as the ST and CC recognition award, is a notification of when you have
received it mailed to you? As far as I know both myself and Elisa are
eligible for it? P: This
is a kinda old one, but I wasn’t aware of it until recently. In March 2003
Elisa Graybill took over list-modding of the us-sw-garou list, she performed
all list mod duties and prepared the report for March 2003; however, it
appears that the prestige for these duties was awarded to her predecessor,
Tim Crall. What steps should be taken to get this rectified? |

P:
C. R.
Teodoro used unsavory language on the Story Teller List and so was banned
from the list for approximately 2 weeks. I am currently working on a
solution for this repeat offense by C.R. Teodoro in hopes to create an
incentive disciplinary action that will promote a positive change in his
behaviors. There appears to be a conflict between the RC and C. R. Teodoro,
which has created a vicious cycle. This CC has a theory that this may be
adding to the causation of C. R. Teodoro's choice in language use on
Camarilla Sanctioned Lists thus inciting the RC to escalating punishment.
The CC would like this issue to be presented to those higher up for Conflict
Resolution between Peter Savas and C. R. Teodoro. A: Should Mr. Teodoro like to pursue this course of action, proceedures for doing so are outlined in the Membership Handbook. P:
This issue
has created tension within the Domain because Peter Savas has demanded that
both the CC and the DC to hand down a punishment per his design while not
allowing BMK and HSC to design a disciplinary action tailored to the
individual member in hopes to create a positive change. The RC has gone as
far as to threaten Disciplinary Action to others if C.R. Teodoro is not
given the level of punishment the RC views as proper. |

questions. I had thought that I had given plenty of warning of my plans to
step down, submitting my resignation on 2/06/04 to become effective upon
submission of the February Domain report. We are still waiting for Regional

One
of our members is a GSA type. The GSA prestige weblist hasn't been updated
since November. Can we get this fixed? A: You will need to contact the AMST-Settings office for this. However, Prestige listed on the GSA's site does not constitute an award.. Awards for GSAs and their staff's must come from the Club Director's Office. P:
Richard Johnson's (US2002034063)
MC9 Prestige Review Audit was sent to Regional on 11/30/2003Update. The
December RC Report indicates that it was approved. Two days
ago I found
out that the neither the member, nor his CC was made aware that his MC9 was
approved. The only reason I knew about it was because I saw it in the RC
Report. To date none of us have heard from Regional, other than the listing
in the report. The member, and his CC would like to know if anything was
denied at Regional, or if it is approved as submitted. P:
Note, the Following was in last
month's report, but was not addressed in the RC report. |

CA-006-D Domain of Los Angeles |
Q:
Pete, this is the formal question of what do
we have to do to get the Domain funds for Los Angeles back from Regional? I
noticed that you were able to spend Regional funds recently, so I'm hoping
that this is a good sign for this process. A: If you are referring to funds from SWRE 2003, Ms. Ramos said she sent me a list/spreadsheet of the expenses and the monies contributed by the Domain for the convention; however, I do not recall ever receiving that information. I do not doubt that she sent it; but I cannot be sure if I ever received it. If I can get that information, I will review it with the ANC-Events and determine if all or part of it can be reimbursed to the Domain. As to the expense of Regional funds, that was done after consultating with, and obtaining the approval of the NC and the Club Director. |

Q:
What
is National's opinion regarding the interpretation of the Disciplinary
Action section in the members Handbook, are these guidelines general
suggestions on how one may choose to discipline a member or are these hard
and fast rulings that must be followed with no deviation. Can one tailor a
discipline to an individual as a CC chooses in hopes to engender positive
change in unsavory behaviors? I would like National's opinion of this
please. A: Wes, would you comment on this, please? |

I submitted a
request for proctors to be assigned for a DC election on February 6th. It's
been a month and there's been no movement on this from Regional. When can we
expect the process to begin to allow the Domain to vote my replacement? A: This item was addressed above in the "Problems" section..
Q:
A question
regarding transfers was submitted in mid-February. No reply has been given
as yet. The question was fairly simple - Are there any special procedures
for a member to transfer into a Domain where they do not live? |

CA-056-D Strange Bedfellows |
Q:
Is there a way
to place my audit in the line to be reviewed at the Regional Level on a
‘whenever’ basis? A potential increase would put me at an approved level
within my Member Class loan and I do not need the audit completed quickly at
all. Can I have my CC mark it ‘when you have time’? Is there a way to
shunt all the audits that may not affect any benefits to a separate line so
that the reviews for members who will have benefits can be attended to
first? A: There are currently no processes in place to facilitate a "stand-by" Audit request. The Audit queues have been quite full lately, and in fact, if you were to send in your Audit on "stand-by" it might likely never get done as a result of the first-in-first-out manner in which the queue is cleared. The best thing to do is wait until you are sure enough you have qualified for MC Advancement, and submit it to your CC for consideration. Once it has passed through the DC to the Regional Office, it will go into the queue and be handled in the order in which it arrived. |

C: From the ACC Lead: Chriss Cornish US2002034913 has not received her prestige awards for being DST for November 2003, December 2003 & January 2004. A reminder was sent to the DC last month about the matter. An additional reminder has been sent this month about the award. I am sure it is just a simple matter of forgotten paperwork. |

C:
Of 23 members, 8 were active (defined as
earning prestige)This represents 35% of the Domain at large. A further 6
members attended Domain game events without earning prestige. This
represents a further 26% of the Domain membership. Those members who were
active through earning prestige and/or attending game events total 14
members, or 61% of the Domain membership.
C: As
mentioned under questions, I submitted my resignation as DC along with a
request for the process for TWC to elect my replacement to begin. This was
submitted on February 6th, with the clear intent that I wished to step down
with the submission of the February report. To date, there's been no
movement on this at all. We'd like to get things moving. |

S. Could a basic text version of the RC Report be posted to the lists? The new format is great, except that it is inaccessible when I am reading email on my laptop at a location that doesn't have internet access. |
